Today I was at the store with my mom, and I was trying on a shirt with little cutouts near the top of the shoulder blades. I absolutely loved the shirt, but it was waaaay to big on me and vaguely resembled a tent. My mom said she'd check the store by her office, so fingers crossed that they have it in the right size!

I know I've said it before, but I really do love when shirts and dresses have interesting backs. It just makes anything 5 times more appealing to me. I know some people like it because they just want to show off their back, but that aspect of it never even occurred to me until someone else mentioned it.

I just think it can add so much interest to an otherwise ordinary outfit! A little unexpected twist that goes unnoticed until you turn to leave.

And getting back to the idea of showing off your back, it obviously does that too. But it's a far more subtle way of showing skin. And depending on the design of the shirt or dress, it can usually feel sweeter and more innocent.

There's just something about cut-outs and open backs that has me hooked. Even if I wouldn't ordinarily like the shirt that much for whatever reason, if the back is interesting, I'll probably be dying to buy it.

Also, I don't normally do this, but I would really appreciate it if you could vote here for my mom to win. It would really mean a lot, and she deserves it.
